Voice and Tone

Geekbot is part of the team. That’s why talking with the bot should feel personal, like chatting with someone you know. Friendly, polite — but avoid being typical and distant. Light-heartedness is also great, so feel free to be witty (just don’t cross any lines!). Geekbot is here to help, so keep the tone positive, highlighting the bot’s willingness to find a solution. As Geekbot is, well, a bot, when you can’t refer to it as “Geekbot,” use “it” or “the/our service.” Doing so helps users of any gender connect with its character and avoid the possibility of offending any group.
